Good Faith Estimate

The “No Surprises Act” is a federal law that went into effect 1/1/2022. It requires us to provide patients who are not using health insurance to pay for their care with a “Good Faith Estimate” for the total cost of treatment over a one year period.

Estimating the total cost of psychiatric treatment is difficult because the course of treatment varies for each patient and the law requires us to make this estimate prior to meeting with you. Nonetheless, we do our best to give you a reasonable estimate of the cost of treatment.

A Good Faith Estimate is provided because Brain Body Psychiatry is not in-network with your health insurance plan. Getting care from Brain Body Psychiatry could cost you more than getting care with in-network providers. The Good Faith Estimate informs you about protections from unexpected medical bills.

The amount indicated in a Good Faith Estimate is only an estimate. It is not an offer or contract for services. It does not include information about any amount that your health insurance plan may cover for out-of-network providers. This means that the final cost of services may be different than the Good Faith Estimate.
